The following journal entries originated from a deserted camp several miles east of the ancient town of Beni Hasan. The tents in the camp were ripped to shreds and no bodies were able to be located. Many items were still left as if the occupants had just up and abandoned the camp as fast as they could. This journal was discovered in a tent that was oddly, the only one still standing among the destroyed and tattered tents. It belonged to an Edgar Zalmen, a member of a steamer that supposedly delivered the expedition, and is dated from 1881. How these tents were able to still be in this condition is unknown to us.
